Give to the  Arts on AusArt Day 23 October

This new initiative is designed to support artists and arts organisations to fundraise on one national day, and to increase the donor pool in support of Australian creativity whilst elevating the public value of the arts in the consciousness of everyday Australians.

Book Links is running a campaign for this ‘giving to the arts day’ and will focus all donations received up to midnight 23 October 2025 towards running free workshops in public libraries with our local authors and illustrators. Simply donate any amount that you can afford, to support this venture.

We have already been running a few workshops in our public libraries over the last two years, with some great ones coming up in the January school holidays at Ipswich and Springfield Libraries. Their holiday reading program is themed around Adventure, so Dave’s workshops will fit right in. Check the Ipswich Libraries What’s On for Chidlren page closer to the event to book in.

‘Choose Your Adventure’ books have been popular with readers for decades. In this fun session, with Dave’s advice and support, kids plan and produce their own short ‘choose your own’ book that they can try out on friends and family.

 

Yvonne Mes workshop at Arana Hills Library – 22 September 2025

Book Links sponsored a September school holiday workshop with Yvonne Mes presenting “Make a mini-book” at Arana Hills Library. We partnered with Moreton Regional Council Libraries who supplied the venue and we supplied the artist. The session was booked out for this two hour workshop. Help us to do more.
