Look! Bush Books Exhibition

‘Look! Bush Books’ was Book Links’ first project, undertaken in partnership with the Macintyre Young Writers’ Group at Goondiwindi and supported by the Regional Arts Fund.

Twenty Year 6 and Year 7 students from Goondiwindi schools took the opportunity to work with Stephen Axelsen, a professional illustrator and writer, to develop storyboards and finished illustrations to complement local stories entered in the Macintyre Young Writers writing competition.

Look! Bush Books was opened by award winning author and illustrator, David Cox (who grew up in Goondiwindi) at Illustration House, South Bank during the Brisbane Writers Festival in September, 2006.
